News of a tragic one-two of deaths have hit this week with Kazuo Umezu and Quincy Jones. Like many other people, I’ve enjoyed their works. In terms of Umezu, I have to say in particular The Snake Girl and the Silver-Haired Witch and Tamami: The Baby’s Curse. RIP to two truly brilliant artists.

Miyu Honda, a renowned figure skater, stars in this coming-of-age sports film set in Miyota, Nagano Prefecture, the home the oldest curling rink in Honshu, Japan’s main island.
Synopsis: Kasumi and her friends set up a curling team when they were in elementary school. They called themselves “Miyostella” and won a championship, but broke up soon after. When it is announced that Miyota will host an international curling tournament, Kasumi, now in high school, tries to reassemble “Miyostella” to compete in an exhibition match but former teammate Mai is on a different team, a rival team, actually. This continues the story from episode 12 and is an adaptation of the “Portrait of s” arc of the original manga.
