This film is based on the historical figure of Nobutora, the father of the famous Warring States period general Shingen Takeda.
The film was directed by Shusuke Kaneko, a journeyman director who has done the live-action adaptations of Death Note and Heisei Gamera series (which were available to watch for free on Amazon Prime recently), and it features music by Shinichiro Ikebe, known for his work with Akira Kurosawa and Shohei Imamura (The Eel, Warm Water Under a Red Bridge).
Synopsis: Shingen Takeda has proven himself in battle but there’s an even wilier person in his family, his father Nobutora. The son exiles the father and so the old patriarch goes to Suruga to serve the Ashikaga shogun in Kyoto. This is a compilation movie based on the series that was released on Netflix in April 2020. Episodes have been pulled together by live-action director Michihito Fujii (The Journalist).
Synopsis: After Section Nine is shut down, many members leave Japan and form a mercenary group called Ghost. They get caught up in a supposed rescue mission but things go awry. Meanwhile, the Japanese prime minister asks Daisuke Aramaki to reopen Section Nine. Aramaki turns to Togusa to discover Ghost’s whereabouts and contact them.
