Okay, so I’ve restarted Fire Emblem: Awakening for real this time. Just quick snatches. I don’t really have time for video games but I want to put away the Nintendo 3DS and the game collection into a safe place.

Yuki Saito, who has a background in commercials and music videos, makes his first feature-length film debut with this social comedy-suspense drama surrounding the entertainment group “Mazekoze (diverse) Troupe,” which is made up of performers from diverse backgrounds – more info here.
Synopsis: After a performance of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, a scream is heard from the dressing room of the leader of the Mazekoze Troupe, Chizuru Higashi, and she is found to have been strangled to death. It becomes a locked room mystery when it is discovered that the lift is out of order and smart phone reception has been cut off. Kameido is a district in downtown Tokyo (you’ll see the Tokyo Sky Tree there – and there was a cinema-related cafe near its base back in 2017) that has an old-fashioned vibe and it’s the setting for this film and actor Ryujiro Watanabe, who was born and raised in Kameido, plays the leading role.
Synopsis: Aspiring actor Ryu-chan spends his days thinking about auditions and helping out his homeboys and homegirls in Kameido, Tokyo. One day meets Lin-chan, a relative of the owner of a Chinese restaurant. Lin-chan has eyesight problems, something which prompts Ryu-chan to help her and, wouldn’t you know it, love starts to blossom. In order to seal the deal, Ryu-chan tries to fulfil Rin-san’s wish, to see fireworks and to earn money for expensive medical treatment.

Synopsis: This is a documentary dedicated to wheelchair tennis player Yui Kamiji. She started playing tennis at the age of 11 and competed in the London 2012 Paralympic Games in her third year of high school before turning professional after her graduation. She went overseas by herself at the age of 18, and was ranked No. 1 in the world at the age of 20 before being knocked down to No. 2, a place she has remained for six years in a row. We see three years of her life as she tries to get back to being the world number one, including the people who watch over her, including her mother and her coach and wheelchair engineer.
