I’ve got the last set of posts I want to do kinda planned out and I’m looking at two more big preview posts for the autumn festivals. I’ll be going into winter concentrating on nothing but screeners and trailer posts and maybe eke out some videogaming time in between. Oh, and I want to get through some Hong Kong and French films!

This stems from a special TV animation produced to commemorate the 5th anniversary of the broadcast of the original anime series.

This is the second of a two-part animated film sequel to the Given TV anime which is an adaptation of the same-named manga. The first part was released in January.
Synopsis: Ritsuka Uenoyama, Mafuyu Sato, Haruki Nakayama, and Akihiko Kaji are the members of the rock band “Given” and, despite losing out on a spot at a festival, they have been tapped to make their major label debut. Mafuyu, the singer, has conflicting feelings while Ritsuka, who had been playing as a support guitarist for rival band “syh”, is approached by an internationally acclaimed violinist.

Kana Kita is a name that popped up in Shunga Sensei last year. She should be more familiar to me since she was the lead in Shindo – The Beat Knocks Her World. Solid supporting cast including husband and wife Shota Sometani and Rinko Kikuchi.
Synopsis: Maruko is a deliveryman who is regularly sent out to a particular apartment building which has a reputation for “people disappearing one after another.” He discovers the secrets of one particularly suspicious resident and seeks the aid of a co-worker named Arakawa who has dreams of becoming a novelist. The more they dig into the identity of this suspicious resident, however, the closer they get to a shocking revelation.

Synopsis: DIR EN GREY get a two-part concert film covering the last stop of their European tour, which started with a show in Poland and then moved on to France, the UK, before it ended in Germany. The footage is from their Berlin show and viewers will get one of two concerts, both of which will be screened at certain times. Expect the live performance, some behind-the-scenes footage and interviews with the band members.
