Since last week’s trailer posts, I have written a review of Sayonara, Girls. and interviewed the film’s director, Shun Nakagawa, previewed the London Film Festival and reviewed Lightning Over the Beyond.
In terms of stuff I have watched, I finished the latest series of The Boys and some additional films such as Blue Collar (1978) and Silent Hill (2006).

Synopsis: Documentarian Hiroyasu Murakami, who received the Kaneto Shindo Award and the Bunka-Cho Documentary Award for his highly acclaimed films “Tokyo Tideland” and “Crab Planet,” turns the camera on his parents as his 91-year-old father, who was suffering with terminal cancer, chose to spend his final days at home, and Murakami’s mother took care of him along with home helpers and visiting nurses. Murakami documented his father’s health as well as his mothers for about 40 days. Through this work, he touches on various social issues surrounding the elderly and different forms of life such as flowers and insects.

Yasuomi Kawahara directed Tomona Hirota (Videophobia, KUSHINA) and Megumi Ookawara in a film that involves Mölkky and was made with the support of the Japan Mölkky Association.
Synopsis: Mölkky is a Finnish leisure sport in which players throw darts at wooden skittles for points. A young woman named Yomichi was playing it by herself when she is joined by Nako and decides to teach the newcomer the rules. Nako becomes addicted to after learning she can chant a spell, “TODOKU YO-NA KI GA SURU” to get a strike.
