Welcome to the second and final trailer post of the week.
You can find the first part here.
So I’m back recording episodes of Heroic Purgatory and we’re covering Zhang Yimou’s House of Flying Daggers, a wuxia romance. I’m also covering the forthcoming streaming release of Sayonara, Girls. on Sakka, for which I wrote this news article and will follow up with reviews and an interview.
In terms of other films I have watched, Teruo Ishii’s 1973 film Porno Jidaigeki: Bohachi Bushido and his 1974 film Bohachi Bushido: Code of the Forgotten Eight. I also watched Tsui Hark’s 2000 film Time and Tide.
What are the rest of the Japanese films to get a release?

Actor Mayu Midoricha and filmmaker Ryuzo Saeki co-direct this unique “documentary” wherein they consider money through interviewing people who have their own unique currency.
The film won the Filmination Award at the 17th Tanabe-Benkei Film Festival and the Runner-up Grand Prix at the Tokyo Documentary Film Festival 2023. Since it won an award at Tanabe-Benkei, it will be one of a number of that fest’s awardees to get screened at select cinemas over the next couple of months as part of the “Tanabe-Benkei Film Festival Selection 2024” programme.
It runs from August 23-September 12, 2012 at Theatre Shinjuku and September 20-26, 2012 at Theatre Umeda.
Synopsis: Ryuzo and Mayu are familiar with money problems since they work in the world of independent films. When they run out of money and meet a traveller who asks them, “What is money?”, a series of strange events begin to happen, such as Ryuzo transforming into a gold bug and the discovery of people with different ideas of what “local currency” is. They interview these people and find out about a romantic economic zone outside of the legal tender.
