I had been operating a high-tempo work rate balancing my regular job with writing over the last few months so this week has been a bit of a break and I’m back on my gaming side line with a continuation of Bravely Default and, eventually, Fire Emblem: Awakening before moving on to my Nintendo DS and the collection of games I have for that. As mentioned last week, it’ll be a revisiting of works Akira Toriyama was involved with and also games like Infinite Space and Sola to Robo.

I have also restarted my Japanese studies. I had gotten into the habit of taking my laptop into work to do writing during my lunch break but I have replaced it with a text book and sheath of scrap paper to work on my language skills. And My Japanese Coach on the DS, which I’ve had for years and used on and off.

Apparently, a YouTube video went viral with its story of a “strange” floor plan full of discrepancies. This video was turned into a best-selling novel and now it gets a film.
Synopsis: Amemiya makes Youtube videos about the occult. His manager brings him a floor plan for a house he is about to purchase convinced that there is something odd. After looking at the floor plan, Amemiya asks an architect named Kurihara for advice, especially since Kurihara investigates occult phenomenon himself. He also tries putting out a YouTube video about the mystery of the house. A woman named Yuzuki contacts Amemiya after seeing the video and she says she knows the house and around the same time, a body is dumped near the property as the mystery deepens.

This is a sequel to Dare to Stop and the screenwriter for that film returns and also takes on directing duties. The stories he depicts are based on his own experiences with Wakamatsu and this one covers the creation of the mini-theater Cinema Skhole in Nagoya.
Synopsis: The wealth of the 1980s saw the rise of video cameras and VHS tapes and a decline in living passionately. In the face of changes to culture, Koji Wakamatsu set up his own mini theatre with the help of a video camera salesman and others passionate about movies, including a young Junichi Inoue.
