This one was directed by Yudai Yamaguchi, a man who came up with the Sushi Typhoon splatter crowd and came to prominence with the likes of Meatball Machine and Tamami: the Baby’s Curse. He has worked a lot with Tak Sakaguchi on a number of films, including Deadball and Yakuza Weapon.
Synopsis: Toshiro Takuma was once an action star but his relentless pursuit of perfect action film acting and realism saw his star wane in an an industry addicted to wires, CGI and quick edits. Facing being outsiders, Toshiro and his loyal apprentice Akira decide to shoot their own perfect film themselves. The location is an abandoned island but that proves to be a bad decision as it is the site of a hidden caches of drugs that yakuza are looking for. When the film set is invaded by criminals, Toshiro finds that this the ideal opportunity to make his “Real Action” movie a reality but can he survive the gap between movie-making and reality?
The Blu-Ray is a Region B release and it will go on sale on March 11th.

Third Window Films has leapt into 2024 with a selection of highly-rated titles from 2023.
