The first of a two-part movie, by the time this post goes out you can watch this entirely new take on the Seven Deadly Sins series on Netflix. It features a brand new story by the manga’s creator.
Synopsis: 14 years have elapsed since the defeat of the Demon Clan and Prince Tristan of the Kingdom of Liones struggles to control the Demon Power inherited from his father, Meliodas, and the Goddess Power he received from his mother, Elizabeth. When Elizabeth’s life is threatened, Tristan heads to Edinburgh, where Deathpierce, a former Holy Knight, has his castle. But what are Deathpierce’s intentions?

Rina Takeda and Kaito Yoshimura planned this film and star in it. Rina Takeda is a long-time presence on the Japanese film scene having wowed people with her martial arts skills in action and splatter films like High Kick Girl and Dead Sushi. She also does indie movies like The Tale of Iya. Meanwhile Kaito Yoshimura is a rising actor who has been busy on the indie scene for quite a while with performances in Love and Other Cults, Dawn of the Felines, Destruction Babies, and Dancing Mary. He also takes leading roles as in Goodbye Silence and Far Away, Further Away. He was also the recipient of a programme of films he starred in getting played in various cinemas.
The film was shot over a five-day period from New Year’s Eve 2019 to New Year’s Day 2020.
Synopsis: On New Year’s Eve, a man trying to complete a huge painting of his dead wife meets a woman who resembles her. She has a special skill to do with paper and their chance encounter at an airport leads to them sharing a tuk-tuk, a Thai three-wheeled cab, on a journey from the airport and through Yokohama. As the two travel together, the more their attraction grows and their secrets are revealed!

This film comes from Keiichi Hara (Colorful, Miss Hokusai, Birthday Wonderland) and it is an adaptation of a same-named best-selling novel.
Synopsis: Kokoro has become a hikikomori and has not attended junior high school in a while. Her lonely days spent in her room are disrupted when the mirror in her room begins to glow. After touching said mirror, Kokoro finds herself pulled into a castle where she stands alongside six other teenagers. In this fairy tale environment they embark upon an adventure to find a secret key that will lead to a room where they can have their wishes granted. However, they must leave the castle by five o’clock or be punished…
